The Bonds of Fate Empty
PostSubject: The Bonds of Fate   The Bonds of Fate EmptySat Jul 24, 2010 11:41 pm

Cryos V gleams bright blue blue from space. Two Jedi approach in a shuttle. They hope to settle the worlds strife that has gone on unchecked for a century. Finally civil war has broken out and the royal family split. At the current moment there are two houses with royal bloodlines. Both with royal families fueding, plotting, and scheming. On top of civil strife a rebellion has formed in opposition of the houses bickering for control. It seems like a routine mission for a Jedi, one that would seem unusual in a time of warfare. But events will soon unfold that will change the lives of many beings, and end some. Memories of loved ones will surface and strain the bonds of Master and Apprentice. Below, on the planets surface, a different scean. The sky is dark blue, settling on the capital city of Kemphora's spaceport, where two more souls are about to be bound up in this unfoseen twist of fate.

Scott walked haeavily down the Kuttless' bording ramp. The spaceport was set high on the horison overlooking the landsacepe. The mountains in the distance towered over the city below. Cryos V's atmosphere was a deep blue, giving the land a contrasted look, and darkening details. He took in a deep breath of the cool morning air. Something stired behind him.

Kira yawned as she made her way down to him, placing both arms around him.

"You think he's here?" She asked sleepily, burying her face in his back.

"I hope so. There's no telling what damage he can cause, but I need to stop him. It's my fault this happened in the first place." Scott said in though as his gaze was set over the landscape. A small breeze stirred. Kira let go of him.

"Well it's my fault to, since we're being technical." Kira stated, but Scott changed the topic.

"The planet's in civil strife... I don't understand why he would come here. I'd think this is last place Jax would come..."

"Travelling with Master Kelmar Drath to the planet of Cryos V, Lena practices her meditation with her wise Master guidance"

Master Kelmar Drath: Take deep breath, feel the force around you, see through the force. Concentrate..Keep your focus. "He calmly says"

"At first, she see's the force around herself, as streams of colored light going in and out of the ship, but what she see's the most is her master, as a being of light, the force is attracted to him as metal would to a magnet. Slowly, she see's clearer, as if the force had opened her eyes, but as the ship came out of hyperspace, her visions became blurry, something was distracting her"

Master Kelmar Drath: Keep your focus..."a few seconds later, he asked" What is wrong my young padawan, you seem distracted?

"She opens her eyes, noticing her Master, although he looked calm, he seemed concern, she replied" I am sorry Master Drath, I have failed.

Master Kelmar Drath: Did you now? "he replied calmly, as he would usually"

"Taking a deep breath, she then replies" I was able to focus, all was going well, I felt the force through me and around me, but when the ship dropped out of hyperspace, it must have distracted me as all became blurry and troubling, I could hardly focus.

"hearing from the ship intercom" We have arrived to Cryos V Master Drath. We will be landing shortly.

Master Kelmar Drath: You did not fail Lena, you actually did better then I had hoped, what you thought was a lack of Focus was actually a disturbance in the Force, something I was expecting due to the on-going civil war on the surface. " As he gets up, he put a hand on Lena shoulder and says" You did fine, relax now, we will be there soon.

"A bit nervous about her first actual mission, she asked" But Master, what if I'm not ready? I mean, it is a civil war, something rather big, do you think I am up for it?

" He looks at her and reassures her" If I wouldnt be sure, you wouldnt be here. Beside, this internal dispute should be solved rather easily. "He smiled and says" Now relax, the last thing they want to see is a nervous Jedi" He laughed a little"

"She replies" Very funny." And show a little smile then says" I will concentrate on my task...So am I to meet anyone on the surface?

Master Kelmar Drath: You are to meek with Arch Duke Deiron Kate and hear him out. I will meet with Queen Bria Kate and hear her version, afterwards, we will organize a peace meeting between the two parties and help them reunite peacefully. "He replied"

You seemed confident, do you think it will be that easy?"She asked as she believe it will not"

Master Kelmar Drath: The force will guide us, beside, I have done this hundreds of time, it should be no different. Now let me check with the pilot, you will meet with the Arch Duke first then I will be heading towards the Royal Palace.

Lena: Yes Master, may the force be with you Master

Master Kelmar Drath: And to you my young Padawan. "He smiled before leaving into the cockpit to meet with the pilot"

"Although she was more confident in her task and believed this war could be resolved peacefully, deep inside, she was still disturbed by what she felt in deep meditation. As the ship lands on a landing pad, Lena heads outside of the Ship where she will be met by a representative of the Arch Duke and his escorts. She takes a deep breath, put her hood and leaves the ship"

The Bonds of Fate Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Bonds of Fate   The Bonds of Fate EmptyMon Jul 26, 2010 6:18 pm

Scott stood in the street as Kira asked a vendor nonchalant questions, and bought various fruit. The weather on Cryos V was erratic. The mornings were cool, as if the planet were in the fall season of most worlds. But during the day you could see the tropical life. Hot and humid made the lush ferns and other tropic vegitation feel at home. It also struck something in his memories. Both Kira and Scott thrived in a warm and moist climate, as was their guess of the climate of their homeworld.

Neither wore robes or boots. Scott wore a light sleeveless top with light tunic shorts. Kira hardly wore what would constitute as modest on most core worlds. Her top covered her upper chest, and her semi-short skirt was covered slightly by the cloth strip in front of her. No one paid them much notice as they walked the streets from vendor to vendor.

While she truely enjoyed stopping at all the stands to see the exotic foods and cultural souvenirs, it was not what they were after. And after about three hours of walking the sandy streets they finaly saw what they were looking for.

A small group of younger men stood outside a small building that read 'Cantina'. There presence in the Force was not a friendly one. Scott could feel malice dripping from them. He looked at Kira who nodded and continued down the nearby alley. He stopped at a stand and pretened to show interest. He felt the men move after Kira down the alley.

Perfect...

He left the stand and strode after the group that dissapeared around the corner. As he approache he overheard murmurs coming from the alley.

"... -ease... I didn't realise this alley was off limits. I was just trying to take a shortcut back to my transport." Scott heard Kira's voice clearly.

"It aint off limits... we invite people such as yourself down here all the time. We greatly appretiate credits and pretty ladies visiting us... especialy when they are potentialy given to us in the same package."

Scott appeared around the corner to two rather large men facing him with their backs to the situation at hand.

"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

Stang... I wish I was better at mind manipulation...

"I'm afraid you can't" The man looked taken aback slightly.

"Little man needs to know how to pick his fights better. I'll let you go this time little hero, now get out of my face." Scott didn't budge, but sat there with a neutral expression. "Fine... I've been dien to grind some fresh meat."

As he reached for Scott the man couldn't fathom what would happen to him and his buddy in the next two seconds. Scott seemed to melt from the thug's sight, and before he knew it his extended arm was pinned behind him shoving him against the alley wall. The other thug tried to react but was launched off his feet into the opposing alley wall by a side kick from the smaller man.

Scott reached up and tapped the man unconcious with the Force. As the man slumped to the ground in his comma like slumber Scott glanced over to Kira. Two men lay at her feet non-moving. The last one was whimpering on his knees. Kira had his arm in an upper style lock. She smirked at him.

"What took you..." She pulled the last man, who was rather scrawny for the bunch, to his feet.

"Why are they always dirty... are there any straight up clean henchmen these days?" Scott mused.

The Bonds of Fate Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Bonds of Fate   The Bonds of Fate EmptyWed Jul 28, 2010 10:20 am

" As the ships leave, the Arch Duke representative approaches and says "
Representative: Welcome to Karak'Dul, I assume your the Master Jedi sent from the Republic to help us win this war?
"Shocked by such a comment, Lena didnt think she was sent to win a war but to resolve it, although not a master Jedi, she didnt feel appropriate to correct him on the matter as they were unimportant, although she felt she should correct him and replied" I am sorry, I was not sent to win your war but to resolve it peacefully.
He laughed as the soldiers behind him did as well" Now that Master Jedi, I doubt it will happen, but please, this way, the Arch Duke is waiting for you."As he motion to follow him to an hover vehicle. As both embarked, the vehicle left quickly being escorted by 4 military speeder bikes.

On its way to the Arch Duke private manor, the representative explained the situation" Let me brief you a bit on our situation, we have been in a state of war for 10 years now against the royalists, the war as been brutal but no side has gained the edge as of yet. There as been no talk between our 2 nations for about 5 years now. "Lena reflected on what was said and thought about what she knew, she asked" Do you know what caused the conflict?" He replied" 10 years ago, a badly damaged republic vessel arrived here and needed repair, our sole space station which were run by both our nation took care of this vessel and open trade with the republic started then. However, the Royalist took credit for the repairs took over the station by staging a coup within the station and took over some of the trade, however, his royal highness, didnt stay idle and launched a counter offensive to re-take the station, however, the conflict degenerated and the station was destroyed in the process. Since then, the Republic has stopped trading with us until the matter is resolved and we have been in a state of constant war ever since." As he finished, the vehicle arrived to the Arch Duke manor" Here we are, when you see the Arch Duke, address him as your highness." Lena replied" understood, thank you for sharing information, the republic and the Jedi order truly appreciate your cooperation." He smiled and motion for me to follow him.

The mansion didnt truly look like a mansion, it may have at some point in the past, but was now more of a fortress then anything else. It was heavily guarded with battle droids and heavily armed soldiers, there was an energy wall surrounding the perimeter which also included a shield generator to protect from bombardment. Also, added to the Mansion roof, were from what I can see 4 heavy duty quad laser turrets. She had to ask " Although in a state of war, is the Arch Duke constantly under attack to require such an amount of protection?" The representative replied" We never know what the royalist may try to do, at first, when both nation still had a fighter fleet, there was constant bombardment in the city, his highness thought it prudent to protect himself. Although no royalist fighters or bombers has been seen in 2 years I believe. " The Representative talks to a soldier at the entrance of the mansion" The Republican ambassador is here to see his highness under my authority." The soldiers allowed us entry as he most likely recognized the representative. "

"Inside the mansion showed its true beauty as it was meant to be, the artwork in this mansion was masterpieces, although I could see some damaged structures and painting, most likely due to previous bombardment, the mansion itself was in remarkable shape. I followed the representative to what seemed to be a lounge, while I walked those hallways, there was not a time I didnt notice or feel the soldiers around. " Wait here Master Jedi, his highness will be with you shortly." He left the room and tasked 2 soldiers to guard the door.

"I waited patiently, trying to think how I would approach his highness on this matter. A few short minutes later, a man walked in, well dressed military man as it clearly showed some military decoration, this man was tall, of well built stature, grey beard and hair with the look of a soldier." Greeting Master Jedi, I am Arch Duke Deiron Kate, welcome to my humble domain, may I interest you with a drink?" Although he looked serious, I could feel he was rather calm and happy to see me" I must kindly refuse you highness, I am to talk to you about the current war." A bit surprised, as he finally noticed me, he replied" Of course, I am curious however, I thought Master Jedi's were supposed to be, how can I say this...Older. No offense meant." I smiled" None taken, I am not actually a Jedi Master but was sent by my master to investigate the situation here."He replied" I see...Well then, Master or not, I am glad you are here." I smiled, bowed in respect and said" Thank you your highness, may we discuss about the situation?" He sits down and motion for me to do the same, as I do. Then he explains" Let me be blunt, this war has lasted long enough, although we are holding them at bay, it is a situation we cannot handle for much longer and I request the republic assistance to help us end our conflict." I quickly replied" You do know I am not here to aid you in your war campaign but to end the war peacefully" He had the same reaction as his representative had and laughed then said" That will never happen, the only peace the Royalist seeks is our annihilation or surrender" I took a deep breath and said" The Republic believes it can be resolved peacefully, and me and my master want both your highness and the Queen to meet on Neutral ground and solve this conflict peacefully." He looked at me suspiciously and said" Your master is with the royalist right now?" I calmly replied" Yes, he is, we both wish to end this peacefully and both my master and I believe this can be achieved even after 10 years of war." He gets up, a bit angry and said" You believe that after 10 years of war, millions of lives lost and billions of credits in damage that I will discuss peace with the Queen??? " Seeing that his highness would lose patience, I used the force to calm him down, and it did quite easily and he replied back" Very well, I am a bit tired of this war as a whole, I will go with this meeting, but only if no soldiers are around." I replied" Worry not your highness, while yourself and the Queen discuss, my master and myself will protect both you and the Queen from harm. " although still very hesitant, he nodded to confirm the meeting and said as he left the room" Very well, you can use the computer to contact your master, say that I accept conditions of the peace talk. Until then, please stay as my guest in this lounge, someone will show you to a room later. " He left the room before I had time to thank him, I decided to try and contact my master, perhaps he was right, perhaps this civil war could be solved easily afterall."

The Bonds of Fate Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Bonds of Fate   The Bonds of Fate EmptyWed Jul 28, 2010 8:46 pm

Spoiler:

"You're sure this is the building?" Kira asked in a rushed tone. She kept a hand on the scruff of the scrawny man's jacket.

"Y... yes. Can I go now?"

"Not yet ya little hutt spawn." She shoved him up to the doorway. "You're a horrible host... let me help you. Why don't you inite us in."

"They'll kill me."

"I'll do worse." Kira gritted her teeth and spoke bluntly in the man's ear. Scott simply stood back and watched. The man shakily pressed the com panel, and Kira pressed her tribal short-blade up into his groin. "Hope you can make it convincing."

"No Force." Scott looked to Kira and she nodded. The last thing they needed to do was draw attention that there were force-users in the area. That would get the gov involved.

A second later a man answered. Two seconds later the door opened in a swish. A stalky bearded man stood in the doorway.

"Daeron... what's going on here?" The man went for his blaster, but he was too slow. Kira shoved Dearon head first into the bearded man. Within a moment Scott and Kira were through the door. Several sets of eyes fell on them from the various beings that occupied the chamber. The room was square, pillers surrounding the outside, upholding a balcony above, circleing the room.

A few seconds passed as the beings surveyed the situation. Then the room came alive with shouts and the drawing of blasters. Scott and Kira dove in opposite directions behind pillars. The chamber erupted into bursts of crimson flashes. Kira flashed Scott a: you-sure-you-want-to-do-this-no-force-stryle expression. Scott shook his head. They didn't need the attention.

Scott rounded on the thugs first. He tore off towards a male Twi'led who had upended a table for cover. As the twi'lek looked up Scott's arm caught the beings head whiping him back. Scott twisted and round kicked the man that was next to the twi'led. He connected to the man's midsection, throwing him to the side. The next opponent pulled a vibro knife and lunged at him. He grabbed and locked the being's arm, then flipped him onto his back.

Scott reached out for the next person in similar fashion. Only this time he latched onto the person's blaster in hand. The Force sent a warning chill down his spine. He crashed into his victim, sending both of them to the ground. Searing bolts exploded on the wall through where he had been standin. Blaster still in his opponents hand, Scott grabbed it and aimed it in the direction of the fire. A round later the fire ceased and Scott continued to his next opponent.

He glance over to Kira. She was in midair flipping up and over a foe and into the midst of several thugs. She gracefully landed a series of blows and strikes, droping all around her. Scott focused back on his next target. In moments the room was filled with groaning and moans of pain.

Someone started to clap on the balcony above. Scott and Kira looked up.

"Bravo... bravo..." A smooth and rather charming voice announced. A greenish/grey oblong head peered down at them. It was a falleen, his whispy hair potruding from the top of his head. He turned and began waling down steps that lead to the main floor. "And what cmay I name my unexpected guests? Hmm..."

"I'm Scott... that's Kira... and that's all you need to know." Scott spoke first. Kira was closer to the bottom of the steps.

"Of course you are... and I'm sure you have an excellent reason for breaking down my doors and assaulting my men?"

"Not really... you just keep some unsavory company."

"I do not belive that is against the law."

"No... but trafficing spice and and slave trade is."

"I'm not sure what you're talking about."

"In the next room you have an entrage of female familiars, and in the cargo storage you have over a 500 kilos in spice. I think our bases are justified."

"Very well... but I'm afraid you still cannot leave." The falleen droned. Scott merely looked at the man indifferent. The falleen extended an arm towards Kira, as if he were about to use the force on her. "Come... child."

Kira seemed to be entranced as she began strolling towards the tall being. She stopped a foot before him.

"You see... you can't resist what power's nature has granted me." Scott nodded indicating Kira to the Falleen. The green being looked back in confusion. Kira stood there with a smirk. He couldn't cover the surprise on his face.

"Your pheromones don't effect our species." She landed a kick driving the tall being to the ground. The man let out a grunt and supported himself with a hand. He coughed.

"Your species?"

"Not something you need to worry 'bout. We just need a little information and then we'll be on our way." Scott said in a diplomatic fashion.

"But you'd better release those slaves... or you will be seeing us again." Kira added.

The Bonds of Fate Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Bonds of Fate   The Bonds of Fate EmptyThu Jul 29, 2010 12:40 pm

"Inputting Master Kelmar Drath codes into the computer, Lena managed to establish communication with him."

-Master, I have spoken with the Arch Duke, although he believed this peace talk would lead to nothing, he was willing to cooperate to end this war.

" my Master replied with a calm and yet happy tone of voice"

-That is great news indeed Lena, well done. I have spoken with the Queen, she reminded me of you a lot, I believe she is your age, anyway, she accepted to come forward with the peace talks, although she also believes it pointless.

" although not entirely convinced this peace talk would work, she mentioned her concerns to her master"

-Master, do you think anything will come out of these talks, from my point of view and from the reaction the Arch Duke had, I doubt nothing productive will come out of it
" He replied"

- Patience my young padawan, sometime, to initiate talk is the true beginning to peace, beside, from what I have learned, both sides havent talked in years, perhaps it is time for them to discuss. Mention to the Arch Duke that we will meet with him at the old spaceport on the border, the Queen mentioned she wanted to bring her most trusted advisors and advised the Grand Duke to bring his so all can discuss the situation.

"Although she knew the spaceport was close to the borders of each nation from her previous briefing, she wondered why such a area was chosen."

-Master, why the Spaceport, wasnt this spaceport used by both nations prior to the Space Station destructions 10 years ago? Wouldnt that cause more harm then anything?

"He calmly replied"

-Sometime, to heal a wound, you have to confront it, since this spaceport was the last area which was used by both nations, I think it is best to bring them back to such a location in hope it would unite them better. Although you are right Lena, it may also raise tension, but I will mediate the talks so I am not concerned about it. My only concern is for you to concentrate on protecting the area while the talks are on-going.

"She replied with confidence"

-Dont be concerned master, I can do it, there shouldnt be any problems. When is the meeting so I can warn the Arch Duke?

"Master Drath replied" Tomorrow at noon.

"Lena quickly replied" I'll see you then, I'll inform the Grand Duke immediately. May the force be with you Master.

"He replied" And to you my young padawan, see you tomorrow.

"She closed the computer and headed towards the door where 2 soldiers were standing, she asked calmly"

-I need to speak with his highness, can you lead me to him please?

"The soldiers nodded in affirmation and escorted me through the great halls, again, there was not a second where I didnt feel watched, soldiers were everywhere. Although I know they meant me no harm, I was still a bit concerned. After a short walk, the soldiers brought me to a door and told me"

-Enter this room, his highness his waiting for you.

"A bit confused, I asked"

- Should he be warned of my arrival, I wouldnt want to go in if he wasnt notified.

"Very seriously and bluntly, the soldier said"

-Ma'am, by the time we got here, my partner relayed your message to his highness and he is by now expecting you.

"I went inside, it was some sort of a library which was transormed into a war room, as I walked toward his highness, which was sitting at a table awaiting my arrival, I noticed there was an holoprojector beside him which showed an holographic image of Cryos V and many blue and red dots, most likely troops locations, allied and foe"

-Sorry to disturb you so quickly your highness, I only wished to inform you the Queen also accepted terms for the peace talks.

"He laughed loudly and replied"

-Did she now? I must confess, I didnt expect that from my niece.

"I didnt know that, the Queen is the Arch duke niece? How come this was not mentioned in the briefing i wondered, I continued"

- She has agreed for a meeting to the old space port which both your nation used 10 years ago, it is neutral ground. She requested you bring your most important and trusted advisors as she would do the same so the discussions are serious and worth while.

"although he didnt seem pleased by what I told him, he replied"

-Already making demands? She will never change, but very well, for the sake of peace, I will accept.

"out of curiosity, I asked"

-Your highness, I was not aware the Queen was your niece, I had doubts you were related but I didnt think she was directly related to you.

"He got up and walked slowly towards the holographic projection of Cryos V, as he watched the projection, he says"

-She is indeed, she decided to continue the feud me and my brother started 20 years ago. But that is another long and painful story. Perhaps these peace talk would ease my conscience of things that happened in the past.

"I replied calmly and confidently"

-Worry not your highness, I assure you that by tomorrow, this war will be over and Cryos V will finally recover from years of conflict.

"He looked at Lena with a faint smile, the way he looked at her reminded her of a father who would look at his naive daughter and he said"

-I have only known war and conflict in the last 20 years, I doubt anything will change, but its good to have high hopes young Jedi, I admire your optimism. If there is nothing else, I have to consult with my advisors on the latest development.

"I bowed in respect and said"

- The meeting is at noon tomorrow, I will accompany you and your advisors when you are ready to leave.

" Lena left the room to be met by the same soldier who escorted her earlier, he motioned to follow him and she did, while walking the great halls, he said"

- I have been ordered to escort you to your room, if you are in need of anything, there will be a soldier posted in front of your door that will help you.

"She replied nicely"

-Thank you kindly.

"Walking a set of stairs up to what seemed to be an interior balcony, a door was opened and showed a grand room fit for royalty. When the door was closed, I sat down on the floor and meditated. I needed to focus for the task at hand the next day, but again, this disturbance, I couldnt keep focus, it was stronger then ever. I concentrated harder, the flow of the force were erratic, something I had never seen in my life. I decided to stop meditating as I couldnt see through the force and decided to rest. Tomorrow will be an important day and I need to be well rested."

The Bonds of Fate Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Bonds of Fate   The Bonds of Fate EmptyThu Jul 29, 2010 5:34 pm

The dolomitic rock crumbled slightly under Kira's grasp. She cursed under her breath and found better footing. They were a good 100 meters up the cliff face. Below were tropical waters gleaming a relaxing teal. Every now and then there were divits into the rockface where vegitation grew. Kira craned her neck to see Scott's progress.

Scott stared up at her, and smirked when he realized she was looking down at him. That's when she realized the error that she'd made. She had worn a loose skirt. She didn't need the force to tell her why he was smirking cheesily.

"Don't get any ideas Koosh." She said playfully. His grin only got wider. "I swear if you make a cuplink or saber crack..."

They had been climbing for almost two hours. The Palace lay at the top... where the crime boss had directed them for information on Jax. He said that he did not know where to find a bounty hunter, but he did know someone that might know. An adviser in the royal palace.

Finnaly at the top Kira and Scott poked there heads over the edge to get a view of the surroundings. The palace was enormous, and was surprisingly built right next to the cliff. Timing the guards Kira and Scott jumped up and over the perimiter wall. Then scaled the palace's structure wall up to a balcony.

Once inside they found the main corridor, which was more of a massive room than a corridor. Scott heard footsteps and ushered Kira to a nook behind some lush plants. Scott could here and see the faces of the beings that walked past them. There was a well disciplined presence among the voices. A Jedi. Scott quickly drew himself in in the force, concealing his presence.

"These peace talks are a waste of time master Jedi." A roundish male figure in lavish clothing spoke, obviously the royalty, and probably the king.

"Your majesty... we are not here to fight your war, and it wont come to that. If it does we will leave your world to it's fate until you can act more civil." The Jedi master said, and it seemed as if the conversation was over.

"I'm surprise at the faith you put in someone so young, Master Drath."

"My apprentice is fully capable of handling the situation, and then some. Jedi are trained from a young age for this sort of engagement."

As they moved on their words became inaudible. If the Jedi were here to resolve the the conflict between the houses then they needed to tread carefully. Not that they had anything hide from them It just made Scott and Kira's mission easier, and Scott dissliked the publicity that seem to follow most Jedi these days. They turned and ran down the great hall, away from the voices.

The Bonds of Fate Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Bonds of Fate   The Bonds of Fate EmptyTue Aug 03, 2010 9:34 am

"The next morning was a beautiful morning, she prepared herself and as she was about to leave her room, a knock was heard on the door with a loud voice that followed"

-Ma'am, his highness wishes to speak with you at once.

"She recognized the voice of the soldier which escorted her the day before, she left her room to see the soldier which was more serious then the usual, also, even without using the force, she clearly saw tension within the mansion, soldiers were running in all directions and searching every hallways and rooms in squads of 5. Lena asked"

-May I ask what happened?

"The soldier would not answer, he only motioned for her to follow him and so she did. what could have possibly happened to cause such a commotion however remained a mystery but she knew that sooner or later she would find out. The Soldier brought her to the same room she met the Arch Duke the day prior, as she arrived, a high ranking military officer with 6 heavily armed soldiers walked out. The Arch Duke seemed rather agitated and disturbed, also, a chair was broken and some books were on the floor. He looked at her and signaled the soldier to leave the room then said"

-Leave us and close the door.

"The Soldier saluted his highness and left the room and closed the doors. She asked soon afterwards."

-What happened your highness?

"He looked at her with some disdain and anger and replied"

-I thought you could tell me. Dont you Jedi have some sort of powers to sense these things before they happened?

"Surprised at such a comment, she replied"

-Some Jedi's do have the power of precognition, seeing future events before it occurs, but such things are the will of the force, they are not always active or there to manipulate your highness, what happened?

"He looked rather suprised at her answer and then explained"

-My daughter was murdered last night, it happened right here under my very nose.

"She replied"

-I'm sorry to hear that your highness and I feel for your loss, I presume the assassin managed to escape?

"He turned around and walked slowly towards the holographic image of Cryos V where you could clearly see military movements, he replied"

-You presumed right, this what happens when I lower my guards, you come here promising peace, I lower my guard for 1 day, 1 DAY, and my daughter gets murdered in my own home, these Royalist will pay dearly for such an unforgiving move.

"Even without using the force, she could sense the anger from within the Arch Duke, to try to give a chance to peace, she felt she needed more information on the matter and asked"

-Are you sure the Royalist are behind such an assault your highness? Although I feel for your loss, do not let anger and years of war cloud your judgement, my master is with the Royalist as we speak and he was adamant the Queen wanted peace.

"He pondered for a little while and replied"

-Perhaps, but I will not go to those peace talks until this matter is resolved, if you are here to help me, then you will help my soldiers find who is behind this murder. Until this matter is resolved, peace talks are on hold.

"She nodded in agreement and replied"

-Of course your highness, I will help you on these matters and find out who is behind this crime. I will also consult with my master, perhaps he can shed some light on this matter from the Royalist point of view. In the meantime, please your highness, give peace a chance and do not do any act that would make matters worst.

"He stayed silent for a couple of minute, lowered his heard then turned around and said"

-I will not assault the Royalist unless they move against me first, but let me reassure you that if I learn they are behind this murder. I will show them no mercy.

"She then replied"

-Lets hope it does not come to this. I will find answers and report back to you soon. Until then, dont do anything until I return.

"He nodded in agreement and said"

-Allright, we will do this your way, for now. Now go and find who is behind this.

"She bowed in respect and left the room, she was then escorted to the mansion entrance. Once outside, she used a small communicator to contact her master"

-Master, the situation became a bit more complicated, the Arch Duke daughter was murdered last night, he wont go to the peace talks until this matter is resolved and he blames the Royalist, I have accepted to help search for this assassin, what do you suggest?

"He replied"

-I will ask the Queen if she is aware of the situation and postpone the peacetalk, once I have investigated on the matter here, I will meet with the Arch Duke and tell him what I found. It is a good decision to help the Arch Duke find the assassin but remember to remain impartial, we are here to help peace, not destroy it.

"A bit frustrated on the lack of confidence her master showed, she replied"

-I know master, I do not intend to make things worst.

"Surprised at her reaction he replied"

-Oh, you misunderstood me, I know you will do what is right, you have my full confidence in the matter. Please let me know what you find.

"She calms herself and says"

-Thank you and I will master. Do you have any suggestions on where I should start looking?

"He replied calmly"

-Try the market place, by now, the news of the assassination must have spread, I am sure someone will know something there, also, you may try cantina's, it is a possibility the assassin may be hiding there.

"Lena replied"

-I will master, thank you for your assistance. May the force be with you.

"He replied"

-And to you my young padawan, and to you.

" Lena then pondered where she would start. After a few minutes of reflection, she decides the Market place would be best, to have a jedi around can raise concerns in the local populace, perhaps even finding the assassin. She leaves on foot and walks calmly towards the market place. "

The Bonds of Fate Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Bonds of Fate   The Bonds of Fate EmptyWed Aug 04, 2010 9:11 pm

There was no sound as Scott and Kira made their way under another archway, leading to their supposed contact. Ahead a smaller archway feeding into a private chamber. Scott scanned the room when they entered. It was one of the more luxurious private quarters he’d ever seen. A tall man stood hunched over a desk on the balcony. He wore exquisite robes by any standards. Scott and Kira approached silently.

“Baron Kalto?”

The man about jumped his height startled. It was unusual that someone would be that startled when they had an open door. Scott extended his force awareness, quickly sweeping the room. He only sensed the baron’s surprise.

“You shouldn’t fright an old man like that.” The man said with a deep breath. He stood at about six feet, was completely bald, and in fact had no visible hair at all. His eyes were a bright yellow, giving him an eerie look, until he smilled. He reminded Scott of a stereotypical grandfather.

“My apologies baron.”

“You’re the two Nereel sent, right.” Kalto staggered a little before making a bow of greetings. The man was long past his prime.

“You keep rowdy company for someone of your status, Baron.” Kira piped up.

“You two must know little of politics then. Someone’s gotta keep an eye on the crime lords. And as the advisor to the royal family it’s my duty.” He chuckled slightly and began to hobble over to a counter that held an assortment of refreshments. “Can I offer you two a drink?

“No thank you Baron… If you don’t mind we only have one question in specific and we’ll be out of your hair.” Scott watched him pour himself a viscous red liquid into glass.

“Ah… straight forward, something I don’t encounter much in politics.” He turned to the two of them. “What can I do for you?”

“Were looking for a bounty hunter… by the name of Jax Nek’la. He could also be known as a paid assassin. Here’s a list of aliases.” Scott handed the elder man the data pad, and he took it in his free hand. His yellow eyes scanned the names. After a few minutes he handed back the datapad and shook his head.

“Sorry, no names I recognize. I’ve heard some rumors of some type of freelancer mercenary doing odd jobs for the rebellion, but nothing, I think, of the caliber you’re talking.”

“Rebellion?” Scott knew the planet was in civil strife, but he never heard anything of an uprising in the general populace. “I don’t suppose you have some kind of contact that we could meet with.”

The baron thought about it for a minute before responding.

“I don’t have any direct contact with them, but I know where you could find some members.” He grabbed a piece of flimsy and scribbled a couple of locations and names down and handed it to Scott. “Here you go, the citie's market is the ripest with new info, I’d start there.”

Scott looked over the names and locations. “Thank you, is there anything we could do for the royal family?”

“Not unless you can end this cold war between the royal houses. While I work for the King and Queen, it is only because my estate falls within their control.” He thought for a second more. “However, if you get any info on this rebellion I’d appreciate any enlightenment I can get. We have enough trouble with war between the royal houses as it is.”

Scott nodded then both him and Kira bowed. They began their silent decent back through the palace.

***

A shadow seemed to stretch from behind a streaming curtain along the balcony. As light fell over the figure it began to move into the chamber. The custom armor gleamed in the fading sunlight. Dark blue streaks ran across the t-visor face plate. The armor spoke in a deep male voice.

“I’d figure you’d have told them where to find me, Baron.” The Baron wasn’t startled this time. He turned slowly to his newest guest.

“I may not approve of your methods or presence, Mandalorian. But I respect what the Queen sees as an asset to ending this war.” The Baron said stonily, but the emotionless helmet betrayed nothing.

“Tell the Queen I’ve accomplished her task.”

“What have you done?”

“If the Queen didn’t tell you, it’s your problem. She told me to go through you.”

“This war will not be decided by brute violence.”

“Works for me… and don’t forget, Baron, this is my homeworld.” With that Jax turned and jumped of the balcony. The Baron heard the ‘wumpf’ of a jetpack, and watched as the glow of the ignition fuel fade into the coming dark. How palace security missed the scene was unknown.

The Bonds of Fate Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Bonds of Fate   The Bonds of Fate EmptyTue Aug 31, 2010 1:28 pm

While walking in the marketplace, she could clearly see tension in the air as the word of the assassination had spreaded to the street, many faces showed despair as they only expected the unavoidable, another full scale war, an event that became to common for them. Everywhere she looked she would hear citizen say" This will only lead to more death" Or " Will he conscript again?" and more concerns were raised.

"I should look into the cantina first" she thought as she walked towards the local cantina. When she walked in, she noticed very few people were inside, perhaps concerns over the assassination stopped people from coming over. There was no way to tell. Beside the bar tender and a droid waitress, there was 3 human male sitting at a table playing Pazaak, a shady Rodian sitting at a table with a white wookie and 2 Transdoshan at the bar.

Bartender: May I help ma'am."The bartender asked as the rowdy Pazaak players expressed their feelings over the last game"

I would like a drink, water if you can provide. "She looked around as the bartender grabbed a glass and poured water into it. As she looked, she noticed the Rodian kept staring at her"

Bartender: There you go ma'am, 5 credit please. "She hands over an extra 50 credits and ask" What can you tell me about this Rodian?

"As he takes the extra credits, he whispers to her" His name his Tulch, he arrived not too long ago, from what I have heard, he is a smuggler of renown and known to be dangerous. "She nodded in agreement and said" Thanks. " Then walked toward Tulch. When close enough, Tulch asked her"

Tulch: What do you want human?
Lena: I was wanted to ask you a few question, if you dont mind.
"The Wookie looked at Tulch and and then stared at Lena, Tulch replied angrily"
Tulch: I have no time to talk nor do I want too Human, leave me if you know whats good for you.
"Lena slightly showed her lightsaber and asked again"
Lena: It will only take a few moment of your time.
"Tulch noticed the lightsaber and replies calmly"
Tulch: You have no juristriction here Jedi and as far as I'm concerned, drinking in a Cantina is still legal."Then he laughed and the wookie followed in laughter"
"Lena, took a deep breath before losing patience and said calmly"
Lena: Listen Tulch, I care not what you do for a living, but I do know you arrived here recently and as a coincidence, a murder occurred. Do you have anything to do with this?
"He takes a sip of some visquous black liquid, afterward, he replies slowly"
Tulch: No, I have nothing to do with the murder, but I heard stories.
Lena: Such as?
Tulch: Oh, I dont know, something about a rebellion in the making.
Lena: A rebellion? "A rebellion, has the situation been so dire then even the populace is revolting, this is serious"
Tulch: What, do you want me to spit it out for you, a rebellion yes, like people revolting on the government sort of rebellion.
Lena: I know what a rebellion is. Do you think they are behind this assassination?
Tulch: Why not, rebel do those sort of things dont they.
Lena: Are you mocking me Tulch?"somehow, she felt he was not telling the truth or the whole truth"
Tulch: Of course not Jedi, why would I do such a thing?
Lena: Exactly, since I am here on the Arch Duke behalf, lying to me or mocking me can be a serious matter as well as smuggling on his territory.
"Looking a bit annoyed and raising his voice a bit"
Tulch: You have no proof Jedi.
Lena: As I said, I can forget the fact you are illegally smuggling on this planet if you help me out here. Surely you can appreciate that.
"Tulch rambled for a few seconds and replied"
Tulch: Kate...
Lena: Kate? Is that a name?
Tulch: Yes and thats all I know.
Lena: Good. Thank you Tulch, I knew I could count on your support. "As she turned around, she closed her eyes and walked slowly toward the exit, using the force to see around herself, as she expected, Tulch was not to be trusted afterall as he slowly got up and raised a heavily modified blaster pistol in her back while the wookie was slowly getting up. As he was about to shoot, Lena put her hand on her lightsaber and warned"
Lena: I wouldnt do that if I were you Tulch, it can only end badly for you.
"Through the force, she noticed he looked rather suprised and sat back down putting his gun back in his holster"
Tulch: You have a good day Jedi.
"She walked out without incident, although she didnt ask where to find this Kate, she at least had a name from which she would start looking."

The Bonds of Fate Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Bonds of Fate   The Bonds of Fate EmptyTue Aug 31, 2010 3:24 pm

Scott and Kira walked among the parade of citizens. Even with the news of the recent assassination many people were out and about. Scott had a feeling he knew was behind the assassinations. And he needed to find him fast. After a while of stopping around various shops Kira and Scott split up.

Why is it so hard to find a lead on a massive rebellion forming...

Scott pondered if this is what normal Jedi did when there wasn't a war going on. He suddenly had a new found respect for the Jedi of past who had to search rather than just confront.

Light gleamed between the surrounding buildings. Evening was coming and he hadn't found a lead. He decided he would find Kira and they would start up their search the next day. He reached into his pocket only to find he must have forgotten his comlink on the Kuttless. He extended his senses outwardly. He could find her easily that way.

Before he could pinpoint her, he caught a gimps of her profile over by the cantina. The sun gleamed behind her making it difficult to see much more than her outline.

Why didn't I think of looking there...

As he cursed himself he began making his way towards her. Something wasn't right. Her presence was different. It didn't mirror his for some reason, yet the bond was there. Perhaps something had alarmed her. Scott reached out in the force to and tugged at her mind in concern. It wasn't until he was a few feet away when he realized his mistake.

As she walked outside the Cantina, she wondered where too look next, the roads were packed with people." Now if I would be a rebel, where would I be if not in a Cantina? I need more information, but my guess would be to ask around some of the weapon shops or figure out where the black market is, if a rebellion is in the making, they would need to be armed"

As she put her hood up and started to walk, she felt something unusual. Although the force in the area was acting in strange ways already, this was different, as if a beacon had appeared somewhere nearby for a few seconds. She closes her eyes and concentrate on this beacon, although hard to detect at first, it suddenly reached out to her." A Force User, here " She walked slowly towards a stand and stayed alert as she seemed to look into the outside shopping wares. " It cant be my Master, is it a force adept or worst...a Sith?" A bit of fear took over, she took a deep breath, calming herself and prepared to turn around and face whoever this individual was. She tried to see through the force, to sense if the dark side was present, but the same dizzying patterns of what she calls "chaotic force waves" surrounded her, she knew there was a force user nearby but couldnt feel light or dark. " Be calm, turn around slowly and try to pinpoint this force user." She slowly turns around and looked where this beacon was sensed...

Another Jedi...

Panic ran down his spine slightly. Sith and Jedi didn't tend to leave non-sect force-users alone these days. He swiftly began to turn away from the scene, but it was too late. The young woman turned and caught sight of him. He stopped dead in his tracks.

Sheilk...

"Sorry... I thought you were someone else."

He spoke monotone as if it were a matter-o-fact kind of situation. She did indeed resemble Kira somewhat. As if she were a twin sister. But Kira had to be double the age of the girl who stood before him. Though Kira's complexion had not changed since her mid twenties, and neither had his.

He began to turn to make a quick escape. The longer he stayed the more attention he'd draw to himself. Still... the young Jedi's strength was streaming in the force like a massive hammer awaiting it's fall. The strength feeding down an invisible tube to him.

No... how... a bond...

Man:Sorry... I thought you were someone else.

"And turned around quickly to leave, she pondered for a second wether she should follow."" what if he's Sith? What if he's reporting to his or her superiors? This could compromise our mission, I need to know."" She walked quickly in his direction and asked calmly"

-Sir, wait, I have a few questions I need to ask you?

As she spoke he turned on his heal and began sprinting away. He quickly retreated in the force, drawing his presence in. Though he was invisible in the force he could still be seen physically. Scott only hoped she wasn't a tuned to chasing someone through a crowd.

"Although she wished to give chase, she realised it may be better to warn her master of this new turn of event. Perhaps the Sith were behind this unrest after all. She looked at this individual vanish in the crowds and walked slowly towards the Arch Duke manor.""I dont understand, although the force in this area is erratic, I could clearly sense this man...why?"" She pondered, another subject she would approach her Master."

"Upon her arrival, she was stopped by the Arch Duke guards"

-Excuse me, I have business inside."She calmly said"
Soldier: I am sorry but you are not authorized to enter while the Arch Duke is away.
"Surprised at this turn of event, she quickly asked"
-Where would the Arch Duke be if I may ask?
Soldier: He left this morning for the peace conference. If you wish to see him, it will have to wait until his return.
"Again, surprised at this turn of event.""Peace Conference?? I thought the Arch Duke postponed this conference until matters were resolved?"" She decided there was no point to argue with this soldier and used her communicator to reach her Master, although she tried, there was some interference and a clear signal could not be heard"" Great, I cant reach my master neither, unless they changed where the conference is supposed to be, at least I know where it is, I will make my way toward the station at the very least"" She quickly made her way towards the conference. Although still confused, her master would enlighten her on the situation, perhaps he tried to reach her but due to communication problems he couldnt."

PostSubject: Re: The Bonds of Fate   The Bonds of Fate EmptyWed Sep 08, 2010 11:25 am

Scott appeared out of nowhere behind Kira. He grabbed her and lead her away from the merchant she was discussing with.

"Well I do enjoy surprises hun, I was in the middle of a conversation." Kira said sarcastically.

"The Jedi know we're here. We need to move fast." Scott said deadpan and Kira's expression grew more serious.

"I didn't get any leads on a rebellion... but there is a meeting of the government heads in a couple of hours around the spaceport."

"You think Jax might try and strike there?"

"If I were still doing my job... yes."

"Then that's where we're headed."

***

An hour later Scott and Kira stood atop a building at the outskirts of the city, overlooking the spaceport. The bustling of activity slowly decreasing as the sun set. Scott could see various security forces grouping near a makeshift stage in front of the spaceport. He peered through a set of electo-binocs.

"What are they doing?"

"From what I understood this is suppose to be initial peace talks. Though I'd expect some sort of attack from the Baron in retaliation for his families murders."

It was probably true. And if so he doubted Jax would even show up to work that would be done for him. As the thought crossed his mind a flash of light blinded him. It was a reflection from a building to his left. Since the city curved somewhat around the spaceport it had caught his electro-binocs.

"Son of a..." Scott and Kira began making their way towards the distraction... a momentary error made by the bounty hunter/assassin Jax. As they ran along the roof tops something caught his attention. Down below a small figure made their way towards the stage. It was the girl from before. In disbelief he started after Kira again.

"With haste, she managed to get to the spaceport, she could clearly see ships of both delegations which were landed on opposite docks and guarded by their respective forces. A tall man dressed in stylish clothes was waiting outside of the main door. He didnt notice her arrival, when he turned, he seemed startled. He had purple skin, yellow eyes, had no hair or facial hair and looked elderly. He looked at her for a few seconds and said"

Unknown Noble:...you.."paused for another second"you must be Lena, Master Drath mentioned you would come.

Lena: What happened? I thought the peace talks were postponed?

Unknown Noble: So did I, but I believe the King wanted to advance peace talks with the Arch Duke by showing his willingness to discuss and also to prove he was not behind the attack of his daughter.

Lena: I see...And who might you be?

Unknown Noble: You may call me Baron Kelto, I was invited to these peace talks as it concerns all of the nobility however, discussions sort of degenerated, as it always does and a short recess has been in order.

Lena: I see... " As she was about to walk in, Baron Kelto intervene by saying"

Baron Kelto: you shouldnt go in.

Lena: I need to see my master.

Baron Kelto: I understand but it has to wait until the meeting is over, it was hard enough for the Arch Duke, the King and other high nobles among others to accept your master in the proceedings, I feel it will only degenerate further if you go inside.

Lena: Very well you lordship. I will look around and make sure all is secure.

Baron Kelto: As you wish, I was told you would assure our security when you arrived. But rest assure, if anything comes close to this complex, both the Arch Dukes men and the Royal guards will notice.

Lena: Still, I will have a look around. And I'm sorry to have startled you earlier your Lordship.

Baron Kelto: Oh no worries, you didnt startle me, I was just surprised when I saw you. You reminded me of someone I knew long ago...

Lena: Oh..Well then, I shouldnt keep you any longer for the meeting. I only wish your world finally knows peaces.

"Baron Kelto nodded and entered the complex, she then started to walk around the complex towards the Arch Duke soldiers, as she was about to arrive, she felt something was wrong, she decided to walk towards the back of the complex, as she walked in that direction, she felt something was out of place. She closed her eyes and tried to let the force through her, to see through the force...Although the waves of force energies were still erratic, for a few seconds, all became clear. One of the crate outside was not what it seemed to be."
Lena: NO....It Cant..........

A large explosion was heard throughout the city as the spaceport exploded, debris were thrown in all directions. A few hundred meters away. The unconscious body of Lena landed heavily in debris between 2 buildings in a hallway, bloodied and badly injured. Only the force sustain her now and her life is slowly fading away. How she survived such a blast is a mystery.

Jax turned and fired three more warning shots their direction. He lept to the next building. They were almost to the spaceport. A few more seconds and he'd lose them. He didn't want them dead. Well... at least not Scott. Off the building to the ground two stories below, he hit the ground in a roll.

In half a second he was back on his feet sprinting much faster than the average man, especially in armor. It was about now he wished he had brought his jetpack instead of trying to travel light.

Suddenly Scott was in front of him. He came to a stop before him. Kira ran up closely behind him katana drawn.

"What do you want di'kut."

"For one you need to stop assassinating royal families." Kira chirped.

"Ahh... you. Getting my family involved in this damn galactic strife and you have the nerve to face me."

"I didn't do anything to your family."

"Not directly perhaps. But your Sith friend felt that my family was a object to be removed."

"What? I'm not with the Sith anymore. I did nothing to your family. I took the information and left."

It was apparent that Scott and Kira felt they were missing something. Jax expression would have matched theirs, had he not been wearing his helmet.

"Scott... from one ol' friend to another. Why are you hanging around with this shutta. She was trying to kill or capture you last time I remember."

"That was a while ago. The circumstances are much different now. I wouldn't expect you to understand."

Jax let a sigh loose within the comfort of his sealed armor. An icon flashed red in his HUD.

"I wouldn't expect you to either..." He produced a remote detonator in his hand. Scott's face went from confused to shock. He bolted past Jax in less than the second it took him to press the button on the remote.

Scott dove at Kira dragging her to the ground. As they hit, the world turned bright in silence. Scott used his energy manipulation technique to transfer the heat of the blast into an electrical shield. Then time slowly began to return. The world was loud and full of screams and chaos. Then it was silent again, replaced by the eerie echo of the dead.

His head rang slightly. He stood up, taking a second to regain his balance. Then he helped Kira up, who nodded, signaling she was ok. The air was still very warm. Fire lapped at everything. Jax was no where to be seen. Something tugged at him through the force.

They immediately split up in an effort to help anyone that survived the blast. Scott followed the line that tugged at him. It was a familiar presence. Before he could place it he had spotted the body. The girl from the market lay in the midst of debris. Holding on to her life. Scott urged calm to her as he walked through the open flames of the raging fire that engulfed the area. Fire seemed to lick at his skin with no effect.

"Hold on there... we'll get you out of here."

In one swift motion he picked her up with one arm and signaled to Kira. They needed to be gone.
