I have several thousand emails on the subject. This would be the ideal time for someone to get spamming. Not that that's a hint or anything. Double thats is the most idiotic part of English in my opinion.

- The Matrix Trilogy (common, Kung-Fu and guns)

| I'm going to say this now....
Avatar was a terrible movie. It was just Pocahontas with better graphics.
Also, the good guys loose. (I'm refering to the Marines, of course).

James Camerons: Avatar is nothing more then a sci-fi adaption of the Pocahontas legend. Still, he fails at the other part.

Just....
No.
Avatar, for me, was the most amazing cinematic experience I have ever had. I could almost SMELL the damn planet it was so real, especially in the 3D IMAX version. Avatar it's a good movie story wise, and probably the best graphic experience I ever had, but it isn't one of my favorites.

James Cameron's: Avatar is nothing more then a sci-fi adaption of the Pocahontas legend. He wasn't intending it to have original storyline. That's for the next two sequels. But admit it - we've more or less forgotten about the meaning of said legend. I think it was about time that story was re-told again - and if it does that in incredible IMAX, all the better. I'm not one to be easily lured in with big shiny graphics but there was some bang-on messages in that film that just don't get portrayed enough.

| Keep in mind the Pocahontas Disney movie was essentially a toned down version of Dances with Wolves.
Granted I came into Avatar with the expressed opinion that he was going to pick a well known story that he couldn't really screw up just so that his first foray with the new technology would be a success. We'll have to see where he goes with the story next to determine just how bad/unintuitive the overall story is when he has some confidence behind him.

| IDK... I have a feeling the next one will be a pitch off of Atlantis or something. Since it supposedly takes place on/in the oceans of Pandora. | |

I haven't heard about anything like that. I know they're going to one of Pandora's other moons, however... I don't think Cameron will be stupid enough to go pinch another movie; he wouldn't escape the criticism. I mean, the guy just made the highest grossing film ever. It's not as if his budget will be limited or anything.
