*Taken from my SW:TOR OT thread, on the very same topic*
... anyone gots some?
My "musical taste" usually goes for rock and metal music, and their various subgenres. However, I'm not a *huge* fan of somewhat mainstream rock, and metal. (Example of what I *don't* want: Nickelback - rock, Metallica - metal).
I like my rock and metal music to possess melody. However, such *doesn't* mean that I'm afraid of death metal or black metal music. (Though... sometimes, I'll only delve so far into those particular genres and their subgenres).
Some notes:
My favorite subgenre of rock is hard rock, my least favorite country rock. My favorite subgenre of metal is progressive metal, my least favorite thrash metal. (Though, I will give any recommended thrash metal a listen).
I *do* possess an open mind, to other genre / subgenres outside of rock and metal! Besides rap (new OR old), country (new), and RnB (new OR old).

I listen to practically anything. But I enjoy older upbeat style music ala The Beatles the most.

Nothing wrong with that. Is what my mother listens to, and I don't cringe or anything when they're played on the radio.
