Darkside Counterparts Empty
PostSubject: Darkside Counterparts   Darkside Counterparts EmptyMon Jul 19, 2010 7:05 pm

Just a notice: this was actually the first story I ever created, so it's a little rough and the ending is pretty sucky, but I thought I'd post it for fun.

The story of Urza starts with a male Whiphid named K'Kallah. Born in 3,778 BBY on Toola, the Whiphid home world. His father was the Spearmaster (or leader) of the tribe. He grew tired of hunting the same animals on his own planet and boarded the next transport he could with his pet Tuggle named Roche (a creature native to Toola).

K'Kallah worked as an exterminator during the early portion of his career, mostly eliminating animal problems, or killing infestations. It wasn't until later in the first half of his life that he began taking on the big game that he had been used to on Toola. It was several years before the Cold War would break out, when K'Kallah received his greatest hunt, the hunt for a Greater Krayt Dragon.

K'Kallah realized how daunting such a task was, and traveled to Tatooine to learn as much as he could about his prey. However, he quickly learned that most of the non-native races on Tatooine did not know the ways of the desert, or the dragon. He realized that he needed to learn from the people who had mastered the desert, the Jawa and the Sand People, but the Jawa were easier to get along with. K'Kallah went about learning Jawaese but instead turned to the Jawa Trade Language created for foreigners.

K'Kallah learned it from a Jawa Engineer by the name of Vivi, the two became fast friends. Vivi was an unusual Jawa, in that he was about a foot taller that most of the species, causing him to be somewhat of an outcast among the Jawa. The foreigners, however, thought it made him more approachable. Eventually Vivi was able to find out rumors of a Greater Krayt Dragon in deep desert through his contacts. The hunt was on.

They spent weeks in the desert tracking the dragon down until they finally found it. K'Kallah was strongly convinced of his strength and relied on no traps, grenades, or any other matter of aide except his traditional hunting instruments. He approached it carefully, calmly, slowly, and silently with all the finesse of a great hunter. He began launching salvo's of arrows at the creature, but did no lasting damage. Due to poor eyesight however, the dragon began to attack nearby shadows, until it discovered one was actually K'Kallah. The battle begun as teeth and massive clawed feet struck at him while he lashed out with his spear. He rolled under the great beast and slashed at its stomach, dodged a great foot, and dug his spear in between the ribs of the creature. He then swung himself up onto its back, removed his spear, and began racing for the Krayt's head. With a massive leap K'Kallah plunged his spear deep into the sinus cavity of the dragon. He leaped off its head and rolled into a nearby sand dune, tired. His work, however, was not finished. The dragon, while severely injured, shook its mighty head a few times to clear the daze, spotted the whiphid, and charged at him mouth wide open for the final blow. With the last of his energy K'Kallah jumped and slammed both feet into the shaft of his lodged weapon. With a thunderous cry the dragon collapsed into the sand. K'Kallah yelled out for Vivi and Roche to attend to him, as he had little strength left.

After returning to the city, K'Kallah was placed into a bacta tank in order to heal. Vivi returned with proof of the kill and received a Lightsaber Staff for K'Kallah's brave feat of strength. He awoke however in the holding cell of a transport ship. Vivi was in the cell next to him, explained that while he was unconscious several bounty hunters came into the hospital, stole all of his trophies from kills, and imprisoned the both of them.

Once the ship landed, the Gand bounty hunters opened the cell windows to explain the situation. A sect of radical Ithorian had begun to take notice of K'Kallah's feats and ordered his death for the destruction of nature. Vivi and Roche were to be punished as accomplices. They landed on the planet of Dathomir. The Ithorians declared the only worthy execution was one committed by nature itself, the dreaded Sarlacc.

They marched into an area where they could clearly smell the disgusting creature. Instantly one of the Gand drops dead following a flash of light, then another, and another. The remaining three run for cover, but Vivi seized his chance, grabbed a Genoharadan Blaster and fired at one cowering insect. Roche attacked another, breaking its breathing apparatus, leaving the creature to asphyxiate. K'Kallah charged at the last one and began smashing its exoskeleton face until the creature went limp.

A blue skinned Chiss climbed out of one of Dathomir's famous tall trees with a Sith Sniper Rifle carefully bouncing between the three targets. He introduced his name as Urza Alighieri, and requested to know what he had saved them from. They explained their situation and expressed gratitude for saving them from such a horrible fate. The trio then returned to the Gand ship to recover their gear, only to discover the ship was out of commission.

K'Kallah tested out his new weapon and found it to be an acceptable replacement for his spear he had lost in the battle against the Krayt Dragon, while Vivi kept the pistol he looted off the dead Gand.

Urza explained that his camp carved out of a tree wasn't too far away, and they could rest there until the next day. K'Kallah asked why it was in a tree and learned that the Rancor could see in the dark better than during the day. It was there Urza explained a bit of his life. He was born in 3,672 BBY and had grown up on Dathomir, raised by human parents. He didn't know where he was born, but expressed no wish to discover who his real parents were. Prior to the Treaty of Coruscan Urza had witnessed Mandalorians fighting the Republic. He became amazed at their strength, the pride they had in their armor, their prowess, and above all else, the honor that they felt from fighting. He had vowed to be just like them, the strongest warriors of all. Urza had watched a particular battle where Sith soldiers had come onto the battlefield, only to have their feats dwarfed by the Mandalorians. He took his Sith Sniper Rifle with the promise to use the weapon to the best of his ability and become just as strong as the Mandalorians. It was at that time Urza became a bounty hunter, in order to practice the Mandalorian way, and make money to gain more equipment. He explained that the reason he was out in the area was to kill some rancor for teeth to sell, including one specific grey bull rancor that had killed an associate's wife. The whole mission was to put down the final payment on his newest upgrade, a cybernetic package that gave him a new eye.

They set out later the next day, traveling across an expanse of desert to get to the lair of the Grey Bull. They noticed two unusual red lights waving around farther ahead. Urza used his telescopic eye to ascertain that it was a Male Sith wielding a double-bladed lightsaber while fighting Giant Wuffa. They rushed in and made short work of the many worms together.

The man gave his name as Lendreg Kayse, and offered his thanks for helping him out of his situation. He explained that he was here to collect Artery Worms for himself and other Sith. In appreciation for the help in killing the Wuffa, he offered to give K'Kallah, Vivi, and Urza some Shear Mite adhesive he had picked up while on the planet. Lendreg made a low mechanical whistling noise and a grey Brackaset appeared. Her name is Syra, and she is a great companion he explained, then proceeded to unload several jars of adhesive.

They traveled to the Artery worm spawning area and collected all the specimens Lendreg needed. As they were about to leave, Vivi began to shriek in pain. Lendreg went into action, sweeping him up on Syra, he explained that Vivi was going to be in severe pain if he did not see a doctor soon. They traveled through several days and nights in order to reach a spaceport. The Sith pulls some strings among contacts until he arranges a meeting with a doctor willing to remove the worm. The surgery turns out to be successful, even thought the whole ordeal was rather painful for Vivi. Later that night, they all huddled around Vivi's bed and discussed that the entire ordeal on Dathormir had brought them together, forging a bond of camaraderie that could not be broken. It was then that they decided to become a group.

Thanks, this was actually early on when the game was first announced, I thought I might want to be a bounty hunter.

It seemed like the personality of a dog crossed with the body of an otter, plus it fit rather well with the character. The name came from a town I used to live in.

Actually, when TOR was first announced, I wanted to create a Sith Warrior called Lord Karnage, then I realised I wanted a better challenge and a Jedi seemed more appropriate. I had written a background for Lord Karnage but I deleted it and worked on Lena. Joining this society only made me want to expand on Lena a bit more then originally thought. I didnt think I would join a guild originally but I changed my mind along the way.
