Pfff. Religion. While I appreciate the overall thought of religion -- I don't like it. You don't need to believe in an almighty, invisible father figure to be a good person. You don't need, or *shouldn't* need the threat of a fate worse than death to be a decent human being. And yet these institutions persevere. I understand that some people need to believe in something greater than themselves.....But I don't think that aforementioned invisible father figure is the proper crutch. Because 90% of the time, fanatics ruin it and simply serve as a reminder that anything and everything humans touch can and will eventually become a twisted parody of itself. It will turn to shit.

Anyways, Religion in general. I agree with what Vigo said, people shouldn't need a reason to be good people. The fear of that some divine power will punish you if you don't behave is pure blackmail.
