Basically it's a japanese restaurant. It may or may not have a dedicated sushi bar section. Instead of a bunch of tables, there are 4-5 (or more. Depends on the space available) huge ass tables, with a grill in the section.
You go and sit at the table, have the waiter come out, he takes your order, and then you wait for your cook to come out, with a cart filled with the things they need to cook.
The cook stands at the grill, bullshits with you, and entertains you with his skills with knives and such. My cook was a bigger nerd than I was. His entire chest was covered in Superhero pins, and he made the Superman logo out of fried rice. He also liked to shoot sake at us. xD hahahah.
