Mass Effect 4, the sequel to the highly praised Mass Effect 3, is on the horizon, if a Gamestop leak is to be believed. This afternoon, gamestop.com placed an ad for the forthcoming game made by BioWare. Pre-orders were being taken, but after the webmasters at Gamestop took down the leaked information, all pre-orders placed were refunded.

BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka stated in a press release that “the studios of BioWare will neither confirm or deny the existence of the new rumored game”. This comes as a new DLC ending for Mass Effect 3 has been released, fixing the much-criticized cut-scene, in which all player paths were the same. The poster for the game has been leaked online, along with a release date of 2013. No specific date has been announced, but according to internal sources, the game is due out during the holiday months.

The direction of the Mass Effect series could be changed if BioWare wishes to turn it in a new direction. The ending, solidifying Shepard as the galaxy's saviour, clearly finished the “trilogy”. In this new game, what might the character take on next? Could the Reapers come back? No information on the story has been leaked as of yet. Speculation and buzz is erupting over social network sites and message boards, with fans eagerly awaiting the newest addition to the series.

Be sure to continue checking the internet as sources continue to reveal new information about Mass Effect 4, due out in 2013.

Yeah... I'm in the same boat, but, Mass Effect 4 means the start of a new trilogy--BioWare saying they're making a 4, 5, and 6. Maybe they won't fuck up the ending so bad (lolz).

I started playing the Mass Effect games about a week ago. I've pretty much beaten the first one, but it's super crashy and I've been lazy since someone told me the ending of Mass Effect and someone else told me the end of ME3
