The west are appeasing these so called "protesters". A lot of these "natives" rebelling against assad's regime are from neighbouring countries. So the Muslim Brotherhood can take over. Loosing Mubarak in Egypt has turned out for the worst. Libia suprisingly has gone secular even though tribes are slaughtering eachother regularly. Tunesia dunno, haven't heard from them in a long time.
It is not that i like these dictators like Assad and Mubarak don't get me wrong. But they bring a certain stability to those countries. I say what Russia and China say. Let them duke it out it is none of our business to interfere.

The Russians and Chinese aren't really allies with Iran. If the US invaded Iran, Russia and China most likely wouldn't attack the US. They'd object to it, but that's about it.
The Russians and Chinese only (really) give the Iranians some tanks, helicopters, farming equipment and some other shit. It's not like a large portion of their economy (unnecessarily) goes to Iran, unlike the US with Israel. In fact, Iran relies on Russia more than the Russians rely on Iran. They're just trading partners, not actual allies. In fact, Iran still is weary of the Russians (The Ayatollah, mainly) because the USSR supplied the Iraqis with weapons and arms during the Iraq-Iran war.
Edit: Basically, the Russians just use the Iranians as some cheap income, instead of actual allies.
