| I got my appendix removed earlier today. It was all very sudden, but my mom snapped a few pictures of me. This was me about 20 minutes after I woke up from anesthesia. I was so out of it at the time and I barely remember my mom taking these pictures. This was the area where they cut into me. I'm not entirely sure on how they did it, but it was something like they blew my stomach up with air and removed it through the incision near the bellybutton. They half explained it to me after they gave me Valium, so I was like dafaqisthisoooooooweismoving | |

| I want to know WHY we haven't evolved past the point of being born with appendixes. I mean...wasn't the appendix used to digest hair, something we, as humans, no longer have to eat--due to our modern food preparing procedures. Now it's basically just there to (possibly) kill you. | |

| It actually may be a part of the lymphoid system, but yeah, right now I wish I wasn't born with one. | |

We haven't been around long enough for it to evolve out of our bodies? I mean... it's amazing how fast our brains alone evolved... in terms of evolution and time... we should not have evolved as much as we have in the past 10,000 years.

| Well the downside, the reason they no longer take out your appendix during any other routine surgery is because they can use it as a replacement sphincter muscle. So... you know... go easy on the weight lifting. | |

Oh, that really soils my plans. You know how much I love weightlifting.
