Jedi Question.....

Are there any Light Side Force powers that are actually cool/strong.
I mean really.
The Dark Side gets all the cool and strong powers.
The Light Side hardly has anything worthwhile that I've seen.
Can you tell me any cool Light Side powers?

The Darkside of the force is more about offensive powers. Were as the Lightside is more about defensive powers. However, in Star Wars: The Old Republic it seems they are mixing things up so one side is not completely offensive and the other completely defensive.

Think about it like this, even with all the offensive and "cool" powers the Darkside has they always lose in thee end. The best offense is a good defense.

Force Valor, Levitation, Force Ghost, Force Absorb, Force Protection, Force Shield (as you mentioned), Force Barrier, Force Light, Alter Enviroment, Electric Judgement the list goes on and on, these are just the ones that come to mind in the way of "looking cool".

What does Force Light and Alter Enviorment do?

Force light was an immense light-side Force power used by Jedi. When used against a darksider, Force light would weaken the darksider's connection to the Force. With the light of the Force, a Jedi could either purge or contain dark side manifestations or nexus points, whether in places, spirits, or even living persons, though sometimes to detrimental effect. By channeling the Force into withering blasts of light-side energy, the darkness can then be diminished or destroyed permanently. Force light could also be used to sever the bond between a Sith battlelord and his or her followers.

Alter Environment could be used to manipulate temperatures, creating freezing sub-zero temperatures in seconds, or blistering heat that could burn. With this ability, a user could generate electrical discharges over broad expanses of ground, vacate areas of air, or increase the pressure of the air to burst eardrums. The power allowed a Force-adept to form small earthquakes and fissures or gather the moisture in the air to bring about flash floods. Moreover, Alter Environment could influence already existing natural occurrences. For instance, a thunderstorm could be manipulated to unleash a burst of lightning, rain clouds to start up torrential rains, or cause the sky to hail. Windswept seas could be coaxed to rear up in massive waves or form whirlpools.
