A certain event happened to Jedi Knight Jagger Cyde in between he leaving of The Order Of the Ashla and joining the Fillorean Society. That event was a secret, until now….
Many thoughts of rage, hate, and regret filled Jagger’s body, emotion he knew he should be able to control, but with the betrayal and antics that he had witnessed, it seemed impossible not to feel these awful emotions. He began traveling to many places to try and cope with his emotions. He even tried something he told himself he would never do, drink. He took a shuttle to Tatooine and became a regular at a local cantina, he never drank to much, but he still knew it was the wrong thing to do and it was all a waste, but he had no other ideas, his training did not prepare him for this.
Despite this downward slope in his life, he had made some friends, one particular one, a Human named Kale Verik, helped him a lot, gave him a place to live, and even found him some work. Kale was also the only one to know about his past, Jagger kept the fact that he was a Jedi a secret for personal reasons. But with friends comes enemies. This enemy was a Trandoshan named Rocron. Rocron had always given Jagger and Kale bad looks, Jagger knew that Rocron hated him, he just didn’t know why, that wasn’t a big deal, until that day, that oh so dark day…
It was a hot day, even for Tatooine, and Rocron had been eyeing them more than usual, although this did not bother Jagger, well that is until Rocron stood up and started walking towards him, Jagger tried to act like he didn’t notice him, finally Rocron reached Jagger.
“I know who you are, scum!” Rocron said, so close to Jagger’s face he could smell his rancid breath
“I have no idea what you are talking about” Replied Jagger, turning around in his seat to face the other way
“Hey! You look at me when I talk to you!”
Jagger wanted none of this nonsense and just ignored him
“I’m warning you…”
“Or what?” Kale had interrupted
With Jagger’s back still turned all he heard was a blaster shot, then Kale’s body fall next to Jagger’s seat. His face turned red in anger, and he reached into his jacket, where he kept his Lightsaber hidden.
“That’s what” Rocron said, mocking the certainly dead Kale
Jagger reacted without thinking and with anger, the opposite of what he was trained to do, with on quick slice he cut Rocron, right in half with an upward slash at a diagonal angle. It didn’t take Jagger long to realize what he had done, so he ran, fast and far to the nearest space port, he had barely enough money to buy a ticket to the place he was going to escape to, the place he loved, and the home of the person he loved… Alderaan.
While the trip was calm, Jagger’s mind was the total opposite, there was no regret, and that’s what bothered him. He was planning on making a surprise visit to a friend of his, a friend he cared so much about, he had met her on a mission for OA, the council there knew how he felt, but they forbid it, her name was Ari Lomax.
He arrived to a surprisingly warm welcome, the began with small calm, lovely chat, oh how he loved her voice. The moment he hoped would never happen finally came, she asked him why he was there. He trusted her so much, he told her everything, realizing new things as he went that just made things worse. When he finished she quickly hugged him. Jagger wished that moment would never end, but like all good things it did.
“You know, I have an idea, do you remember your friend Tellen?” She asked, breaking a silence.
“Yes!” Jagger quickly responded, he had been wondering what had happened to him, he hadn’t seen him in such a long time.
“Well he called me up the other day, figured you’d be with me after what happened. Guess he was right” She chuckled, it made him smile. “He said he had something important you might be interested in, you should give him a call.”
“Sure, I’ll get to that soon”
“Why don’t you go get that out of the way now, and I figured your staying here for a little, I’ll go set up a place for you to sleep”
About thirty minutes passed before Jagger returned.
“He said he will be here tomorrow “
“That’s good, well it’s pretty late, why don’t you got get clean and get some sleep, you look like you need it”
Jagger simply chuckled as he walked away, it looks like life will be getting better, he is with the one he loves and no code to prevent them from being together.
Jagger awoke to Ari standing over him.
“Huh, what’s going on?”
“Put some clothes on, Tellen is here to see you.”
Jagger quickly hopped out of bed and got dressed and rushed to see his longtime friend, Tellen.
“So Tellen, what’s going on?”
Tellen explained to him about The Fillorean Society, their purpose, their formation, and why they wanted him.
“So are you willing to start over again?” Tellen asked him.
Jagger simply nodded.
“Can I have a minute to gather my things and say goodbyes?”
“Of course”
Jagger packed his stuff first, he didn’t wanted to say by to Ari, but he had to. After all his stuff was packed and ready to go, he slowly walked towards her.
“I’m leaving with Tellen” Jagger said it so bold, he wish he could of said it in another way
“Oh, I see…” She seemed upset
“I promise you, we will see each other again”
Jagger put his finger under her chin, moved her head up, then kissed her, although it only lasted a few seconds, it felt like a lifetime to Jagger, and he loved it. He walked away towards Tellen and left, just like that.
To this day he still keeps a picture of Ari in his dresser she always comes to mind. Did he make the right choice? Should he of stayed? Will the ever actually see each other again? These questions drove him mad, but they gave him something to live for, that extra push to keep going, maybe one day things will fit together perfectly…
