Damn, how could I forget Starship Troopers? The only thing to keep in mind (speaking to Aeraie) when watching it, is that the film is not the same as the book (similar) and is more supposed to be taken as satire rather than a legitimate serious war movie. Don't watch the sequels though. Other movies: - Silent Hill (I thought it was an interesting film, but I know it wasn't very popular)
- The Fifth Element
- Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (foreign)
- The Good, The Bad, The Weird (foreign)
- Fearless (foreign)
- Lord of War
- The Mist (NOT The Fog)
- Mystery Men
- A Knight's Tale
- 28 Days Later
- O Brother Where Art Thou
- Pulp Fiction
- Ace Ventura (1 is better than 2, but they're both still funny)
- Dinosaur (western animation)
- Kung Fu Hustle (foreign)
- Saving Private Ryan
- Dragonheart
- The Nightmare Before Christmas
- Beetlejuice
- The Shooter

Silent Hill was one of the best--if not the best--video game turned movie. That's not saying much. It was the best because it was actually enjoyable to watch, for myself and Ix anyway.

Doesn't help that 95% of the genre is filled with Uwe Boll's shit. But as a side note Jerry Bruckheimer's Price of Persia movie is the highest grossing video game movie.

| Issues with video game movies:
--Too short --Bad director (i.e. Uwe) --Not-as-well-known actors/actresses (most of the time) --Tries to follow the game's storyline and mechanics (i.e. DOOM) and put a twist on it
What they need to do:
--Make the film longer --Good to great director (well-known would help) --Decently known to well-known actors/actresses (you can have some not-as-well-known) --Original storyline and mechanics that takes place in the game's universe, but doesn't trample over an already told storyline
It's a simple concept really.

It's a simple concept really. A game-based movie that takes place in a specific game universe but not the specific story simply isn't as marketable as the game story itself... that's why you'll never see that.

The Mass Effect movie disproves this though. It's confirmed that--I'm pretty sure (like 80% sure) that--it WON'T take place during Commander Shepard's time.

No idea, never went to see it in theatres (I was really interested in those games) and I didn't bother with it when it was on Netflix. I did use it to fall asleep once though.

That's not what I've read and heard... :\ Says so in the article above, and other articles around the web. Confirmed by Legendary Pictures and Casey Hudson themselves. It will have the lore of the Mass Effect universe, but, not the same story as the game series.

And if it is, is it only "Remake good" or "Actually good"

And if it is, is it only "Remake good" or "Actually good" I found it entretating. The orginal Thing will always hold a dear space in my heart since it was one of the first "horror" movies I saw. The acting is decent enough, but it doesn't quite manage to feel like the original.

You mean the movie that's going to be about Nazis from outerspace? At least...I think that's what it's about. Based on true facts FYI; Nazis retreated to outerspace after losing WW2.
