Have any of you guys/gals seen the movies directed by del Toro and/or read the comic series by Dark Horse (I think?)? (The 'cult' comic series the movie is based on). It's one of those 'underground' series like The Chronicles of Riddick: you either love it or hate it.

The names alone, of everything in Hellboy are epic.

The Ogdru-Jahad aka the Seven Gods of Chaos, Grigori Rasputin, Samael the Desolate One, The Right Hand of Doom (Hellboy's right hand), Karl Ruprecht Kronen, The Angel etc. etc. (Well...maybe it's just the bad guy, excluding Hellboys right hand). I could go on and on. The storyline is quite interesting to, being that the author of the series is inspired by Lovecraft.

Well... it was no where as good as Riddick... nothing is as good as Riddick... Riddick MMO anyone?

Anywho... they were alright... a lot better than most movies I get worked up to see.

I really liked the Hellboy movies. In fact, they're the only real comic book movies I liked...

I've seen a good chunk of what Guillermo del Toro has done, I even wrote a paper on him in an earlier class. I think he's an outstanding director, and I love Hellboy 1 and 2 (and have seen a few of the animated bits). I really want him to publish his journal(s) at some point. The way in which he gets the drawings to show up on the screen just as he imagines them is amazing.
