They always do, no matter what they try, they always end up with the worst presentations. Still better than last year (seriously? Laser Tag? Seriously Ubisoft?).

For their 3D tv yeah. I don't know how much 3D tvs are combined with glasses, but I'd assume that this is supposed to be a good budget package.

While it annoys me to admit this, it is certainly true. Today is when all the rumors are confirmed or denied, when Nintendo gets to be the Microsoft of this generation and jump out ahead of everyone else and show off the new console. And, most importantly, they will show off how much their next gen console will cost.

I've actually heard the controllers are essentially a more streamlined combination of the wiimote, DS-like touch screens, a camera, and are completely portable as their own system. If that's true it's kind of a spit in the face to the DS owners, they wasted money they could have saved for this.

If those rumors are true too, then the controllers are going to cost as much as the system itself. But it's only 11 minutes away, we shall see.

Far Cry 3 looks kinda cool. With the insane mexican...

I don't know about you guys, but WiiU looks terrible.

It's really a more technologically advanced version of the Gamecube - Gameboy link up. And they only showed off the controller instead of whatever plugs into the TV (Is it the Wii HD?). And enjoy trying to play with a friend without paying a crapton for a new one. It really looks like my days of Nintendo gaming are going to die with the Gamecube.

Ugh, I just don't know how this is supposed to be better...

Not sure. But it can run games like Battlefield 3 and the like fluidly, so... It left more questions than answers.

Ok... I see... They just showed the controller and what it can do (i.e. play without TV on), not the actual console itself (yet), other than it's HD abilities. The ACTUAL console will probably come next E3. I'm confused...?

Yeah I spotted what must have been the console itself during the video, it's like another white brick.

I dunno man, I really think this should have been sold as WiiHD with a new peripheral launch. There is just no way this is going to convince me to trade in my 360 and not wait for whatever Xbox or Sony are coming out with.

Stuff from Gamespot's Q&A/Short Demo session:
(Sorry for the poor quality, they are from the HD stream, can't get much better)

They meet Ulgo, who they have been slowly working through Alderaan's 10 mission long planet quest to defeat and he hides himself in a giant protective bubble. To break through it you have to knock out four generators protecting him (and defeat guards on the way).


This is a picture of the Smuggler firing a shoulder-mounted rocket at the generator so they could gain access to the boss.

The new character screen is an improvement over the last one.


A look at the UI which Daniel Erickson said was because the old one was too fantasy/rpg-esque. They found out that most of the MMOers wanted as much of their space as possible so they removed everything and this is what they were left with.


The lore stuff is still the same, he opened the codex entry for Boris Ulgo.


And that's where it ends. There is another playthrough showing tatooine in 25 mins over at EA as mentioned previously.

You can also go and rewind the Gamespot player to about 1:05:00 or so and watch it yourself as it was done live. They have 2 Jedi Knights (1 healing specced, 1 tank specced), a smuggler (gunslinger I believe), and a Trooper Commando.
